You do not fight with blades or spells, but with vulnerability, intuition, and the terrifying power of understanding. From the sorrowful Weeper to the wrathful Thornsire, every beast carries a truth buried in pain. Your journey is one of connection — or collapse.
Will you heal what the world has buried, or be consumed by its grief?

Gave this a shot last night. Needed some clarification of the rules because I got stuck between the rules and the gameplay example.
In the rules, it says you role Journey at the start of each new day, but in the example it seems to bounce back and forth between Journey and encountering a monster -- and in the example I did not see where the journey was rolled and a monster encounter was the result for the monster encounters.
Hi Savvy! You're right, each day you do roll d6 for journey. But some journeys do present you with monster encounters, especially journey rolls in 1 and 6- where a monster follows you or a beast mimics you.
The example playthrough shows exactly that, which is why it bounces back and forth between journey and encounters. Either way you can choose when and where you encounter a monster/beast. You could even have monster encounters in journey rolls 2 and 5 where a child seeks your help or a storm speaks in whispers. The child here might be asking for help to pacify a monster or there could be a monster manipulating the storm/environmental phenomena. You can even skip the journey rolls and go straight to monster encounters if you want to play it that way!
There's no hard or fast rule for journaling, i hope the above explains, if anything please feel free to get in touch with me!
